How to download Facebook videos

The same simple steps work for every kind of public Facebook video.

  1. Step 1: Copy the video link

Open the reel or video in the Facebook app or website, tap Share and choose Copy link.

  2. Step 2: Paste it into FB Reels Downloader

Paste the link into the box at the top of this page and press Download.

  3. Step 3: Choose a format

Pick HD or SD MP4 with sound, or Audio to save only the soundtrack as M4A.

  4. Step 4: Save the file

Your browser downloads the file to its usual Downloads folder (the Files app on iPhone, Downloads on Android and computers).

Download Facebook videos to any device

Facebook lets you watch videos but rarely lets you keep them. Our Facebook video downloader fixes that: it reads the public video page, finds every file Facebook prepared for that video, and hands you clean MP4 downloads with the original sound.

On a computer

Open the video on facebook.com, copy the address from your browser bar, paste it above and press Download. Windows, macOS and Linux browsers save the file straight to your Downloads folder.

On a phone or tablet

In the Facebook app, tap Share → Copy link, then open this page in Chrome, Safari or Samsung Internet. On iPhone the video lands in the Files app; tap Share → Save Video to move it to Photos.

Facebook video downloader FAQ

Answers to the questions people ask most about saving Facebook videos.

How do I download a Facebook video to my computer?

Copy the video’s link from the address bar (or from Share → Copy link), paste it above and click Download. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari save it to your Downloads folder.

What format are Facebook videos saved in?

Videos are saved as standard MP4 files (H.264 video with AAC audio for HD and SD), which play on every phone, computer, smart TV and video editor.

Why is there no HD option for some videos?

Facebook only creates an HD file when the original upload was high resolution. If the uploader posted a low-resolution video, SD is the best quality available.

Can I download live videos?

You can download a live video after the broadcast has ended and Facebook has published the replay. Streams that are still live cannot be saved.

Is there a file size or length limit?

No fixed limit. Long videos simply take longer to download, depending on your connection speed.

Looking for reels specifically?

The reels downloader is tuned for Facebook Reels, including links shared from the app.
